What is Iron Mana?
Iron Mana (previous Iron Man,) is a Magic: the Gathering variant not for the faint of heart. Players play a 2 person game of Magic as normal (in this case with Jumpstart packs,) however if a card would be put into the graveyard (from anywhere,) it is physically destroyed. In our event, if a card would enter the Exile zone it is safe until the end of the game, at which point if it is still in exile it is physically destroyed.
How will this specific event work?
All players will receive 2 Jumpstart Packs at the start of the event (choosing from The Brothers' War, March of the Machine and Phyrexia: All Will Be One while stocks last,) and be paired for the first game, which will be played using the Iron Mana rules as described above.
After the game, the winner keeps any cards that remain in their opponents deck and adds them to their own deck (they may cut basic lands, but must play all other cards.)
Any players who find themselves without a deck between rounds may pay an additional $10 for two additional Jumpstart packs to continue playing. New players may also buy in between rounds.
The event will continue until all players have decided they have had enough, at which point everyone keeps what is remaining in their deck.
What if I open something that I don't want to destroy?
We would encourage players to engage with the spirit of the event, and to use their strong cards to achieve victory in the game. Protecting the cards you want to keep is part of the fun, however if a situation arises where your day would be irrevocably ruined by a game action we'll sort it out at the time.
Is this event sanctioned by WPN?
No.
